“There should be no limits to human endeavor. We are all different, but no matter what, there is something we can succeed at. As long as there is life, there is hope.” – Stephen Hawking

My Power

There is an entrepreneur living in me. A curious soul who wants to create something great. Who wants to explore and take new paths. Make a difference. Set ambitious goals and fight to achieve them. But also someone who believes in the strength of community. Who knows that together we are stronger and wiser. When I was a child, I sold homemade popsicles and melted candle stubs into new candles, which were sold to neighborhood parents. It never really became a nationwide business empire, but I learned 2 things. Growth requires resources (I ran out of both lemonade and candle stubs) and it's good to have more people on board! As an adult and graduate, my career has given me the opportunity to lead new initiatives, projects and organizations, all of which have had an ambition to create growth. And gradually I have become better and better at reconciling ambitions with the available resources. Some call it leadership. I have collaborated with and worked for some of Denmark's most well-known leaders. Ministers, department heads, big business people, successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists. And I have experienced good and bad management along the way. Elements that create drive and engagement. But also episodes of resignation and dissatisfaction. What makes the difference? What is good Power management? I have been curious about this since my own business career started 26 years ago and I made growth my livelihood. For me it's about:

Trust. I fundamentally trust the good in people. By showing trust, you gain trust.

- Tolerance. I show respect and try to embrace the differences in people. There should be room for everyone.

- Transparency. I explain why I do what I do. By being clear in my communication and structure, I ensure that the direction is clear.
